Can the content on a MiniDV tape be erased?
I’m new to the world of camcorders
So there’s no way to erase it from end to beginning instead of vice versa?
Hello.
Yes you could? just rewind the tape, close the lens cover and press record to end of the tape.
This method is much better than recording over without the blank recording mentioned above.
But try not to reuse or recycle your tape too often. This is due that the magnetic head physically in contact with the tape surface and could damage the magnetic layer of the tape. This would degrade the magnetic properties of the tape and you could loose your data (Distorted video).
Worse, it might damage your camcorder recording head.
A new tape is not too expensive.
