Why Digital Cameras Delay

digital camera suggestions?
My price boundary would be $500 or less would be better. I’m thinking whether a Canon or a Sony. I currently have the Canon IXUS 750 but I don’t why I’m not that happy with it, no problems though, but I think theres better out there. I like the Sony N2 or the T20, or T100 but I heard that Canon’s are more durable. I want a wide screen and that anti shake whatever. and also I want 1 second thing, that thing that takes the photo fast with no delay. my canon delays sometimes. and also curious about thouse underwater camera’s but that’s a different matter, are they just cases or the entire camera altogether? thanks for the help. =)
I would personally reccomend the Canon Powershot SD 1000. At 7.1 Mexapixels it produces a brilliant image. It has alot of extra features like facial recognition. Right now it is about $250. The SD 800, is a bit more expensive and it comes with Image Stabalization. In it’s price range, it is one of the best DC’s out there.
