Surround Sound Camcorders
Connecting Stereo Sound?
i have an old surround sound system with only composite plugs in the back (red, white, yellow), this one only has red and white. i took one of thoes splitter-plugs that camcorders come with, (one end has one plug and the other end has the white and yellow). i plugged it into the sound-out in the back of the computer and then into the surround. im wondering if i can connect the yellow to the red in the surround because there’s no video comming out anyway.
The color of the cables are only for distinguishing which cable
goes where. There’s no difference in their make-up. You can
use a yellow cable for an audio connection and a red or white
cable for a video connection.
On the electronic gear, the color codes are active. You cannot
use a video terminal for audio and visa-versa. I hope I covered
everything for you.
