Sony Style Camcorders
What is the best used pro camcorder I could get for under $1000?
I want to get a pro camcorder to video surfing. It needs to be the big style like this:

So, could you recommend something like that used for under $1000. I like Sony and Panasonic camcorders. I don’t want a Canon GL2 so don’t say that because I have had 2 of them break on me before. I was looking at maybe the Panasonic DVC30, but I need a few more suggestions. I’m open to anything. Thanks!!
Oh yeah, also, it would be cool to have one that shoots on SDHC cards, so if theres any one that uses that like the Panasonic AG-HMC40.
thanks but actually can anyone recommend one that isnt a shoulder mount, just the smaller pro sized, like the canon xh-a1 size.

I purchased an external mic and still haven’t had to use it, the built in mic is that good. It looks heavy but it’s very light and comfortable to use, I was surprised as to how light it was, it must be mostly hollow- either way, it’s a good weight for me for me, because I’m very petite, which makes it all the more impressive!lol! I’m using FCP2 and everything is coming out beautifully! So far, I am very happy & pleased with this purchased.
