Sony Refurbished Camcorders
just got my canon hf100….question?
you know how camcorders can make people and stuff washed out, well that is the reason I swapped my xmas present (sony dcr-sr47) which was standard definition to a canon hf100 which is hd 1080i……I have got to say, I am not sure I can tell the difference between the 480p and the 1080i…is it just me because I am new, or is there really a difference?? or not?? I hate to have switched a really cool camera that I really liked except for the lack of hd (mostly because my hubby picked it out for me) but since we’d be filming family, I wanted high quality video…did I make the right choice and am just not noticing the difference?
I only paid like 100 more for this canon because canon has a refurbished page where you can get refurbished straight from them.

It may depend what you are viewing the video on. If on your TV, use the HDMI cable assuming the TV has an input. Make sure the TV is set for 1080i if you want to see full HD. (that’s what your camera can display besides 480i and 480p.
Set camera on manual and try these things: Make sure the camera is set to correct whatever is lighting your subject. Common room lights can be very yellowish. Make sure you use the White Balance too. Also, don’t set the camera to 24F (cinematic mode) and see if it helps. It’s best to say that the 24F is best uses for stationary subjects and with correct lighting, etc.
On page 47 of the user’s guide, it explains shutter speed (Video shutter speed). It’s important to pay attention to those settings as well.
