Sony Microphones For Camcorders
I need a good external microphone for a Sony HRD-SR11?
Preferably one that you plug into the microphone jack and runs off the camcorders batteries, I also want it to have the fuzzy cover included with it to cut out the wind…and if you could find it on Amazon.com that would be great… that or Best Buy

What’s your budget? Sounds like you are looking for a shotgun mic.
Audio Technica (ATR-55) and NRG Research (SA-568) can connect directly. Both are mono mics. They use their own internal batteries – not the camcorder’s).
“Real” shotgun mics use an XLR connector and need an XLR adapter like one from BeachTek or juicedLink with phantom power for the mic… or the mic can have its own battery.
The “fuzzy cover” is called a zeppelin or a “dead cat”. Rykote makes good ones. bhphotovideo has a good deal on a Sennheiser ME66/K6 shotgun mic, Rykote softie, mic boom, cable and shock mount kit…
