Sony Hvr Camcorders
which camera should i buy?
Ok so i want to film an indie type movie and i was looking into buying an hd camcorder. I like these two which one would be better to film an indie movie with?
Sony HVR-HD1000
or the
Canon hf m300
of course this is a budget film and im running on a max of about $1500 for a camcorder so if there are any other camcorders that you would recommend that would be better than either of these for the price i would really appreciate it.
also i am only looking for camcorders with an external mic input (i am a sound guy and i have plenty of high end mics to use)
Sony HVR-HD1000 is a crazy camera, but to be honest, if you are just recording like family or sports or general stuff like that then get the Cannon HF-m300 because it is like 5 pounds lighter, and it is way more portable, people will be thinking you are like fox 11 news if you get the Sony HVR. If you are doing movies then go for the Sony HVR cause it has a way better shutter rate for like faster movie things and what not. But i would recommend not wasting your money and getting the Cannon HF. It would be really cool to have a huge 6LB camera but its not worth the money for what you are probably doing. But if you really want to waste your money or you do not care about the price or weight of the Sony HVR then get it cause it is an awesome camera.
