Sony Hd 3ccd Camcorders
Why is it so hard to find a Sony HDD, 3ccd?
I noticed Panasonic, and JVC brands of camcorders have them BUT sony camcorder is a rarity. Why is this? Is it because they want you to buy HD? Why doesn’t Sony want to sell 3ccd HDD camcorders?
Sony is making the move to CMOS. A Sony camcorder with a single CMOS chip provides a less distorted image, does much better color matching, is a fraction of the weight, and uses less than half the power of a similar 3CCD model.
Also, Sony is famous for their infrared system as seen on animal hunting tv shows and ghost hunting teams everywhere. You can’t do IR on consumer 3CCD camcorders because IR requires power and space that compact 3CCD camcorders can not provide. IR can be done with CMOS, but CMOS goes blind or creates image noise when you turn off IR in extreme low light situations.
