Sony Digital Cameras Video
I have an old Sony TRV240 digital 8 video camera. How do I get the videos off of it and onto my computer?
I have a Sony TRV240 digital 8 video camera. I no longer have the software to pull the videos from the camera and onto my computer. What software is available that will do that? I have an XP machine with the proper drivers. I just need the video management software.
All you need it Firewire (IEE1394) and windows movie maker,
you have movie maker, so you need to check that you have a firewire card and cable to capture the video from the camera.
check with your device manager/system, for the device if its there then you need to cable if not you need card and cable, something like this.

once installed windows will install the drivers (its part of the OS) rewind your tape select play on the camera, open windows MM and go to capture. follow the screens and your off.
