Sony Digital Cameras Batteries
Have anyone bought & used aftermarket battery for Sony digital camera T500, T700 or T300 (eBay)? Does it work?
I have a Sony T500 & want to buy after-market (non-OEM) batteries on eBay to save some money; however, I wonder if it worked or not. I heard they may display “Use compatible battery”. Another thing is on eBay they even sell batteries with higher capacity from the original 680mAh vs 800mAh or higher. All inputs are appreciated. Thanks
First call Sony and have them explain to you why buying generic batteries or battery charges is NOT a good idea. 800.222.SONY
There are many reasons NOT to risk using generic batteries in your camera. Some generic batteries can cause fires or even explosions while charging. Others have large fluctuations in voltage outputs which in a worse case can damage your camera (not covered by any warranty). The few dollars more you spend on an OEM battery will be well worth it in the long run. Li-ion batteries can last for over five years, so you should not need a new one for over five years if you charge it correctly.
