Why do you think the Sony A450 has gotten so cheap. Even the 380 and 290 cost more than the A450!

The price has come down because it is a disappointing camera.
I also bought it from Comet but cheaper (£285 with a coupon). You will regret every pound spent in this camera. I already got rid of it.
If you are planing on buying a DSLR my advice would be to wait for a good offer of a Nikon or Canon. If a new Nikon or Canon is above your budget, consider buying a used body from a reputed second-hand reseller.
The big negative points are the AF system (very bad) and the kit lens. In my opinion, it is an expensive camera at £285.
The sales for this camera are stalled simply because there is no word-of-mouth in its favour. No one with the A450 is recomending it to friends.
