Sony Camcorders Tapes
What Sony Hi8 camera will playback Hi8 and Digital8 tapes and connects to a computer?
I need a video Camera that will playback some old hi8 Tapes I have, and can connect to my computer via usb so I can have the footage on my computer, it also needs to record in Nightshot mode, I thought about getting the TRV280 but after researching it does not playback hi8 tapes, I would prefer a sony but any other brands for a good deal would be appreciated, also if anybody knows the link to a web page describing all the hi8 camcorders that can connect to a pc it would be greatly appreciated

There are Digital8 camcorders that can deal with Digital8 and Hi8, but not the other way around.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital8 has a list of the D8 camcorders – whether they can do the Hi8 conversion to to digital and get that data over the firewire interface is something you can investigate.
