Sony Camcorders Minidv

Sony Camcorder sound?
I have bought 2 different Sony MiniDV camcorders and both times the sound has stopped working on the camcorder. Has this happend to you and what did you do to fix it?
define ‘stopped working’?
Is it distorted? Is there no sound?
What are the models of camcorder?
I suspect that you have set the cameras up to record in 12bit audio mode (this is sometimes triggered by using longplay mode, LP) and this records two stereo tracks of audio on the tape, called ST1 & ST2.
If you go into menu, vcr settings, audio mode then you should be able to to select the ballance of the two tracks that the camera plays. I am guessing that it has been set to ST2, wheras you will most likely find your lost audio on ST1.
Get back with more details, and tre above in the meantime.
