Sony Camcorders Microphones
What Camcorders have Microphone Inputs?
I need to purchase a mid-priced camcorder…but most important to me is that is have a microphone input without any additional attachments like Sony’s hot shoe, etc. It would be GREAT if it also had a headphone jack.

Lots have mic jacks… only a few have decent manual audio gain control. The least expensive (of which I am aware) that has both a mic jack and relatively granular manual audio gain control is the Canon HV40. It also has a headphone jack.
Tip: While you are shopping, when you find c amcorder you *think* you want, go to the manufacturer’s web site and download the camcorder’s manual to be sure it has what you want/need. If yes, then buty it – if no, keep shopping.
