Sony Camcorders Dvd Format
Are hard drive camcorders compatible with Sony Vegas?
I am thinking about purchasing either the DCR-SR60 or the DCR-SR80, both hard drive camcorders. I would also like to purchase Sony Vegas, so I can edit my movies. However, on the Sony website, it lists cameras that are compatible with Vegas and they all happen to be DVD and miniDV recording format. I have tried to find the answer everywhere but I guess it is so simple, no one posts it up. I would like to know if Vegas is compatible with hard drive camcorders before I go out and purchase one. If you know, tell me please!
I do not have a hard drive camcorder but I do have a lot of experience with video editing. Based on my experience, you should not have any problems using that type of camcorder because it records the video and audio in a file that should be able to transfer right onto Vegas. In essence, you are skipping the capturing step because the video is already in the right format.
