how can i extend the cable for Sony RM-AV2?

I want to extend the length of the Sony RM-AV2 cable to around 15 meters. The standard length is only 1.5 meters. The connection is bespoke to the Sony range of Handycam camcorders. Any ideas? Thanks.

cut the cable and build your own extension cable, to be inserted in the middle. 15 meters might be too long though. if you build your own connectors then in the worst case it won’t work and you’ll end up with same cable with a connector in between.
