Whats the advantages and disadvantages to buying a SLR digital camera overseas (specifically in Asia)?
I am an aspiring graphic designer, armature photographer in the US, my dad is going on a business trip to Asia and I figured he might be able to find me a good deal on a digital camera while over there. What I need to know is are there going to be any problems with it working with the software (Adobe Suite, etc.) over here. I’m not converned with the warranty issue, as that has already been brought to my attention. Any help? He leaves pretty soon so the sooner the request the better, ANYTHING IS HELPFUL at this point! Thanks
Advantage- price (Although he may have to declare it with customs)
If you’re not concerend about the warranty, then disadvantages- none. Well, maybe having to buy the correct AC adapter for the USA, is all.
As for photo-editing software…. This isn’t regional DVD encoding, nothing to worry about- Photoshop and Paint Shop don’t care if the camera came from Japan, Germany or Canada. JPEG is JPEG, wherever you go. Even proprietary RAW formats are manufacturer (not country) based.
