Which camcorder is best?
Hi, I’m having a camcorder for Christmas and I’m not sure which one to get. I have a budget of £350/$700. Please pick which one is best and your reason, I have little experience in camcorders/cameras. Thank you very much

I would go with the Sanyo VPC-HD2000EBK. Here is why.
I like the fact that it does full 1080p HD and also it does variable speeds (600fps, I’ve seen $6000 cameras unable to do that).
And the still photos are still good at 8mp. Even though this has the lowest MP it’s still large enough to do 8×10 prints.
Also the zoom is 10x optical. Like the other person posted, don’t worry about digital zoom because digital zoom is never good, but the optical is where it counts and this camera has the best of the bunch.
Thanks for bringing this camera to my attention, I know some pro camera operators who may be interested in the 600fps shooting speed. I just hope it’s not 600fps at a really low resolution.
