Anyone work with 8mm (video 
camcorders? Tape issue.?
I picked up an 8mm (video camcorder and bought some plain 8mm tapes for it, but it doesn’t seem to recognize the tapes. Through the viewfinder, there is a small tape icon with a cross through it. The tapes I bought are supposed to work on any 8mm camcorder. I don’t want to spend more in tapes than the camera is worth. I did make sure the tapes weren’t copyprotected. That didn’t help. The camera was made in 1990 and is Ricoh. Any advice?
It may be the internal tape feeder. The motor may be bad.
