What makes professional camcorders HD?
There’s a Cannon XL1S I want because it’s cheaper. Yet, there’s a Sony for 400 more and it’s HD. Isn’t there like an advance len I can put on the Cannon make it look to like HD?
I was wrong. It’s not a Sony but a: “Panasonic AGHMC70PJU AVCHD 3CCD Flash Memory Professional Camcorder with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom.” $1596. It can also do stills, and more things than the Cannon. Wish I could afford the upper scale Camcorders.

No. There is no advanced lens to make the LX 1 into a HD camera. HD is determined by the sensor in the camera, not the lens. The reason why it is considered a Pro level camera is because of all onboard manual controls.
You many want to consider a Panasonic GH1 or Canon 5D mark II. They both take excellent quality video and are a lot smaller.
