Best way to clear audio recording?
As we all know a normal camcorder can not record clear audio at a small room, let alone a hall.
I plan on recording a wedding for some friends and, yes, I do have the equipment needed to do the job but can not seem to figure out what filmmakers (wedding professionals) use to record the music played from the DJ. As any camcorders wont be able to record it clearly-even professional ones. I’ve seen them use some type of device that is hooked up to the DJ it self and “wirelessly” sends the recording to the camera… not sure though. So please if anyone knows of such ways please let me know. and any other way or method you know of is greatly appreciated… Thank you!
If the music is loud and what is being recorded is muddy or full of static, then the camcorder must have manual audio control. This reduces the audio gain and keeps the audio track from being oversaturated.
Using a wireless mic alone won’t work unless manual audio control is used with it.
Since you did not tell us which camcorder(s) you are using, we have no way to know if they have manual audio control. Most consumer cams under $800 do not have manual audio control.
I have used the camcorder’s built-in mics for loud audio environments – and they work just fine because I used the manual audio control. Your comment, “any camcorders wont be able to record it clearly-even professional ones,” is not entirely accurate.
