Sony Digital8 Video Poor Quality-How Can I Improve Video Quality?
(1) I have a Sony Digital8 DCR TRV460 NTSC Video Camera. I use Intel Centrino laptop with Firewire cable capture.While the video looks great on the camera LCD screen and when directly played by the camera on TV, the quality is horrendous after it’s compressed to MPEG or similar.I’ve used Windows Movie Maker2, Adobe Premier and EasyDVD Creator with no improvements.Can this be improved at all? Pls suggest alternate methods of capture/compression,and any better video capturing/editing software than Premiere or Movie Maker2.
(2).If this cannot be improved,I want to buy a better camcorder for ~$1000-1500.I extensively shoot on holidays,including lowlight situations,& take still photos on my camcorder.I desire excellent video quality even when compressed to VCD format.Pls suggest models.
(3).Is there an advantage of HD or DVD camcorders over miniDV? If so,what?
Dear friend all camcorders will show the video with good quality when directly connected to the TV although if the video is recorded in low light condition it will look but but when you download to the computer it will look hazzy. This is a common problem encountered by all personal camcorder user.
The first thing for a good quality video recording is that the video should be recoded in good lighting condition.
You should directly make a video CD using the firewire cable. If you are downloading the video to the Hard disk and edit and then make VCD will degrade the quality.
Editing using other s/w should be avoided.
Use the s/w which you got with the camcorder.
Still you arev not satisfied with the quality then you can go in for the HD/DVD camcorders.
