Panasonic Pv Gs500 Camcorders
Which Camcorder would you prefer ?
Im really confused about camcorders.Currently i have 2 models in mind, Sony Handycam DCR-SR80 whcih ahs a 60GB HDD and the Panasonic PV-GS500 which works with MiniDV? in a camcorder the most important thing for me is quality! so if anyone could suggest anyone of these.. and why that one?

If you want better picture quality, go with the Panasonic. The GS500 is a 3CCD camera, which is the type of technology found in professional video cameras–three different “chips” (think of them as retinas) process the primary colors separately, resulting in truer colors–you’ll get an image that looks less “home video-ey” and more professional-looking.
And while the 60GB hard drive on the Sony is extremely generous, I’d still be wary of finding oneself in the situation where there’s no room left on the drive–with a MiniDV camcorder, all you’d have to do is pop in a new tape; you won’t get that luxury with a hard drive based camcorder. The flip side, of course, is that importing footage for editing from the Sony will be much easier.
