Panasonic Camcorders Problems
SVHS Camcorder and Wobbly image?
I’ve owned my Panasonic AG-450 for quite some time I love the camcorder a lot…
Lately I’ve noticed that I have been getting this really wobbly looking image from my SVHS footage. What in the world is going on!?
I know if I tap the side of the camcorder hard enough, the wobbly image disappears but soon afterwards, reappears.
Is there any way I could fix this issue? I DON’T want to get a new camcorder because it suits an important purpose. (I DO have an HD camcorder too).
If it’s a common problem with these camcorders, what usually is the first thing to go with them so that I know what to repair, I am a computer engineer so doing anything related to this isn’t too difficult for me.
Heads could be dirty, so as you tap the case it helps out a little, there could be dirt on the rollers and guids, again a good cleaning may help, by hand not a tape cleaner then are only good for dirty heads, and only if they are not to bad.
There could be a loose worn componant, knowing what that is is impossible from your discription, but it may be worth having a root about to see if there is anything visable that could be causing the problems, other wise you may need to have it looked at, although it may be hard to get parts,

Some are very cheap and maybe worth getting for spares, or use yours for spares, will be cheaper than getting it serviced.
