Explain difference between PAL and NTSC in Camcorders?
I’m planning on buying a camcorder in the US, and then take it back to Europe with me. I’m a bit confused as to the difference between NTSC and PAL camcorders that use Mini-DV tapes — those tapes cannot be watched on TV directly anyways, and have to be converted to files and then subsequently to DVD on a computer — so what difference does it make which system the camera operates in?
Also, if I buy a PAL camcorder that uses mini-dv tapes — would I be able to use the standard tapes that are sold in the US in it, or would I need some sort of PAL tapes?

Blank tapes are the same although prices are not much difference so is it worth it ?
If you buy a camcorder in the States (NTSC) then bring it back, you will be able to put the video onto your computer and then put it to a dvd as a PAL disk. newer TVs can handle both NTSC and PAL, when a camera is played through them
