New Digital Cameras Technology

Do you readily embrace the latest technology?
I have been bought a new digital camera for Christmas with all the whistles and bells and a bewildering array of features.Yet I some how still prefer my old Asahi Pentax SL camera, I bought this camera off someone some years ago and it must be over 45 years old now.
Well your old Asahi is not necessarily outdated. If you’ve bought a point-and-shoot, it may not be able to take some pictures as good as a 45-year-old SLR. One thing I notice about the newest digital point-and-shoots is that they’ve been stripping features off one by one and replacing them with pre-set psuedo-features, so I happen to have two digital cameras and I still use the older one to take nighttime images. I’ve never had a “good camera” though, too costly.
To answer your question I only embrace one new thing at a time, as I come across it. I don’t like miniaturized computers, which have been the prototypical “latest technology” for the past decade and I get annoyed whenever people say we have to be keeping up with the latest technology or we’ll look unmotivated or stupid or whatever.
