does mpeg4 camcorders work on both PAL/NTSC at the same time?
Yes and no. As MPEG4 is a digital format, it could be converted to play on virtually any format. So, in that sense, it works on both PAL and NTSC.
The problem is in the camcorder itself. In order to play back on a standard, analog TV, the camcorder has a Digital-To-Analog conversion circuit built in. The circuit matches whatever country for which it was made.
It is possible to find camcorders that are switchable between NTSC and PAL or NTSC and SECAM. You usually only find these in port cities where a lot of importing and exporting is going on.
Wouldn’t it be simpler to download it into a computer and burn it onto a DVD disc. This would be a zone free disc that should play almost anywhere.
