How good is the quality of Mini Dv camcorders?
I’m just looking for a pretty basic camcorder. Is the picture clear with the Mini DV camcorders? I’ve heard that it’s at least equal to or better than VHS movies, which for home videos is not so bad.
don’t let the “mini” fool you, it is a tape system far superior VHS. The mini refers to the size of the cassette as DV comes 2 sizes, regular and mini. The regular size was never popular, but the mini size is perfect for camcorders. The DV tape system is widely used by television stations because it is smaller, lighter and better resolution than betacam. The only drawback is they did not make a home deck version for playback as DVD became the replacement for VHS rental movies. you playback directly from the camcorder or load into a computer for burning a DVD.
