Mini Dvds Camcorders
Do any camcorders take full size DVDs?
We are looking to buy a camcorder for Christmas, and don’t know much about the dvd type. I know there are mini dvds, but would like to know if there are any that accept full size?
We are not looking to use the camera with a computer, just on tv.
It would also be nice to take a dvd to a friend’s house and pop it into their dvd player, without taking all the camera equipment.
So far as I know, there are no camcorders that use full size DVDs. I understand what you want to do, but you’re probably going to be disappointed! Firstly, you can’t just take the DVD out of the camcorder and play it – you have to finalise it first – once you’ve done that you can’t record any more to it! The video quality is poor, they’re unreliable and there’s no guarantee that the DVD will be compatible with any of the players. All in all they’re a very poor choice!
You can either take the camera with you or learn how to burn your own DVDs – it’s simple. You never know, you might get into editing your videos!
