I need a high quality conection for real time communication and conferencing and acting practice when my group can’t be together. I was told that a camcorder would be a LOT better than a webcam in this sense – but i’m just a poor student so i can’t afford anything more than £80

In general a camcorder is better than a Webcam for use as a video conferencing camera. However, in your price range, most of the camcorders have the same optical components as most Webcams, so you’re really no better off. If you can can afford to spend about twice as much, then a camcorder starts to make sense, otherwise, pick up the best Webcam you can afford.
