Jvc Digital Mini Camcorders
Camcorder experts? i need some advise and not much info for you to go on, i am looking at buying one of the?
two used camcorders. i’ve tried to research them and didnt get much info. one is a JVC mini dv camcorder, this one uses the little tapes, they do not have the model but its about 4 yrs old. the other is a Sony handycam CCD-TR818 digital camcorder… i think that one may have been discont’d for a newer model, so i cant really find any info on it either.. both are $80 , which is a better camera? im not an expert, just a mom that films alot of softball… thanks! i know its sketchy iinfo, but its all i have.
the sony model is NOT a digital camera despite what the vendor may say. it is Hi8 which is an obsolete analog format. it does not offer a digital connection to “down load” video to a computer. any miniDV camera would take superior video and audio plus have firewire computer connection. JVC made very good amateur miniDV cameras, so it should be fine for your application. you might want to get a new battery as they do wear out.
