can you lock a jvc everio battery?

I am sick of the battery falling out can i lock it. Look like this:

the battery should not just fall out , there should be a sprung lock behind the hinge which you need to bypass to have the battery fall out , i am guessing this mechanism is broken or malfunctioned.
