Hunting Camcorders

Is this a Brown Recluse spider?
Hi! I live in southern Oklahoma and I’ve been noticing this spider lately that creeps out of the wood work at night to hunt I assume. I usually stare at him for a minute or so and when I look away he creeps back in. I only see him at night. Brown Recluses are hunters so it makes sense. Why haven’t I killed it? It’s interesting and exciting knowing that a venomous spider may be enjoying my apartment. Also, it would be my first venomous encounter. Plus, I usually don’t kill spiders. They usually do more good then harm. But, I’m no spider expert. This photo is as close I can get with my camcorder. I read that examining the eyes is the best way to identify one since it only has six eyes but that’s not possible in this photo. Also, it appears to have the violin marking. The white mark you see near his head is from my camcorders flash reflecting off it’s eyes. If any of you can identify it I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Yep, that’s definitely a recluse. (Nice photo, BTW.) In Oklahoma, it would be Loxosceles reclusa, which is the most well-studied species of recluse spider in the United States. (There are six species total.)
In any case, it’s cool to see someone who appreciates them instead of freaking out and killing them on sight. They’re not deadly, though they can do a lot of tissue damage if they bite you. But as long as you’re careful where you put your hands and feet, you should be fine. I grew up in a house full of Loxosceles blanda (one of the other recluse species) and was never bitten. (I actually was bitten eventually, but that was nowhere near my house.)
