How can I fix my camcorder?
Hi, everyone. I was doing something stupid and decided to take 2 A/V cables and 3 A/V F-F adapters and plug two camcorders together to see if one could record from the other. Really dumb, I know. Now the A/V in and out on my JVC MiniDV camera doesn’t work (just static on the screen), and on the other, smaller Aiptek SD cam, when i start it up, I can see stuff for a second until the screen goes black and I can’t do anything.
I’m worried about the SD camera, because I didn’t use A/V out on the DV one anyway.
Can someone help me out?
Not as “dumb” as you think.
Older camcorders has a facility that you could say use a vhs player and connect it to your DV camcorder, and it would convert the analogue signal into digital, I dont think its available on cheaper modern versions, although I have not looked.
so assuming you have a newer version, the AV will be out only. you could try to reset the cameras there is normally a factory default maybe a small button on the case somewhere, normally under the screen. Try that fingers crossed. if that does not help then try to remove all the batteries, there could also be a small lithium battery for the time and date.
Other than that it sounds like you have probably stuffed them (technical term I know LOL) you will need to get them looked at.
