Hd Camcorders Low Light

When should HDV pf24 be used?
In several HD camcorders, there are two kinds of HD standards: HDV and HDV pf24. Apparently HDV pf24 is supposed to make video appear more cinematic. Are there certain situations in which HDV pf24 would be preferable, such as in low light, fast motion, etc?
For historical rather than logical reasons, cine film is recorded at 24 fps. PF24 or 24p is supposed to give video a “film look” but in practice there’s a lot more to it than just frame rate. It’s really just a gimmick – try it in a few different situations and see what it does for you, but I can’t think of any where it would be the automatic preference.
