Which camcorder should I buy for my personal and college projects?
I have been searching over the internet different camcorders, but I can’t seem to find any that matches my needs, any of you can help me? I need it to be:
*Price under $500 (Can’t afford a lot as you can see…)
*Have 3 CCD’s (Is it possible under that price?)
*Microphone jack
*Headphone jack (Couldn’t find a lot with this, but it’s vital!)
*Manual Focus
*Manual White Balance
*Firewire
*OPTIONAL: HD Recording
That’s what I need for a camcorder, so what do you recommend? I know it’s hard to find one with that specifications, that’s why I’m asking here.

If you can live with USB, I would go with either the kodak zi8 or the canon vixia. The vixia will be higher quality, might be able to find it for 550. It has a manual focus and white balance, mic and headphone jack, and the HD quality is almost as good as most 3ccd’s like the HVX.
Zi8is around 150-200 bucks but gives a great picture, and has a mic jack. It uses USB like the vixia, but since both are 2.0, they transfer pretty quickly to your computer. It films HD as well.
