Hard Drive Camcorders Reviewed
Camcorder (pref. Hard Drive Camera) that can hook up to Windows Movie Maker easily?
I was shopping around for a camcorder to make videos. After seeing reviews for camcorders, most people said that they didnt like their camcorder because video files weren’t accepted to Windows Movie Maker (windows movie maker doesn’t accept Mpg-2 files [or MPEG-2 files, i can't remember] which most camcorders use to save the file). So, my question is, What is a good camcorder (pref. under $800), that can easily be accepted by Windows Movie maker, and has decent recording quality?
Thanks for your help!
You can import any of the hard drive based camcorder files into Windows Movie Maker as longs as you have some additional software. This tutorial talks specifically about how that process works with DVD camcorders, but the net result is the same:

Also, if you have Windows Vista Premium or Ultimate, the version of Windows Movie Maker included should just work.
