Fujifilm Digital Cameras Accessories
Please Answer this..Is this adapter ok for my camera and telescope?
I ordered this adapter for my compact digital camera (fujifilm finepix s1900) so that i could connect it with my meade ETX-90at telescope,http://www.uk-telescopes.co.uk/telescope_accessories.htm is it ok? would i now be able to take pics of the moon and other astro stuff? how do i connect my telescope and laptop? Please Help me.
The Meade came with a disc of apps, you need that for a PC. Go on web if you’ve lost it, someone will give you a copy I guess. Quote model, date., serial etc. Meades are fair for the money, good enough for amateurs. Light pollution probably gives you more problems than the scope quality.
Obviously you need the lead (USB)
To do astro, you need a camera, not a finepix. Lot of effort for lousy results, bin it. Top Canon compact G11 + or Nikon maybe possible, Panasonic Lumix, Leice D3 onwards, they will do the job up to a point.
Having sorted that, then worry about the adapter, be prepared to work on it yourself to get the fit. Even Leica’s and Zeiss’s scope adapters are plastic compromise wonky kit. I’d look on US sites there are oddments out there made by proper mechanics.
Cheaper but better; get secondhand film SLR (nice Nikon manual focus job) and scour cam shops for a T2 connector which is the adapter between the scope and the cam.
