Discount Digital Cameras Olympus
Which DSLR to choose? Nikon D70S or Olympus EVolt E500?
I’m having trouble deciding which DSLR to buy, I’m an amateur photographer just getting started. If I go by the name, Nikon is more popular. If I go by mega pixels offered, the Olympus wins. I have the opportunity to buy them used at equal prices of each other ($350) so the price isn’t a contributing factor since I’m getting it highly discounted. Here are their amazon pages:

Fotoace is always trying to get you to get what professional use, but then I know professionals who use Olympus. The 4/3 format is not an encumbrance. Olympus is the only camera manufacturer who offers all of their lenses made totally out of Glass. Nikon uses plastic.
I think, however, that you should consider the E510 if the prices are close. It has more features than the Nikon or the E500.
If you are not a professional and not planning to be one, it makes no difference. The Olympus is smaller, just as easy to use, has the vibration reduction in the camera rather than in the lens making it possible to have it available if you are using any of the older OM lenses which are excellent.
Most who recommend Nikon all the time have had nothing else and therefore can’t make proper comparisons. I have had just about one of every brand and model of popular named 35mm and digital cameras and the one that I stick with is the Olympus.
