Good Photography books?!?!?! DIGITAL SLR?
I’ve always had a thing for photography, but I only have a regular small camera. Recently though I got a digital SLR and barely know how to use it. I’ve been look for a book of some kind and maybe a suggestion to a few classes near me. I live in Dallas, TX. Thanks ! Tips are welcome too~

Some great books are: “Perfect Exposure” by Jim Zuckerman, “Nature Photography” by Tim Fitzharris, “Understanding Exposure” by Bryan F. Peterson, “The Complete Guide to Night and Low-Light Photography” by Lee Frost. Also look for a guide or manual for your specific camera. Try ebay and half.com for great buys on photography books.
Start with learning about the aperture, shutter speed, ISO, lenses, the different ways that your camera meters a scene to determine the exposure, and basic care of the camera. Then branch out to learn about tough metering situations, filters, night and low-light shots, etc. Check a local college or community center for photography classes.
