Digital Cameras Walmart

Do the inexpensive digital cameras work almost as well as the more expensive ones?
At walmart, I saw a digital camera for about 30-40 dollars. I also saw a really little one that was on a keychan for $12. Do those work nearly as well as the ones that are a lot more expensive?
I mainly want one that takes pictures that are pretty clear and that I can take several pictures with so that I can get it just right. I don’t care a lot about special features, etc.
The short answer is no, those cheapy cameras do not work as well as more expensive cameras. You’ll need to spend around $90 at the low end to get a decent digital camera.
Those keychain ones are the worst–the images are small, with no detail. You can’t print the images. You can’t shoot in anything less than perfect light. They are designed to separate you from your money. You’re actually better off with a cell phone camera than one of those keychain ones, and that says a lot!
If you want a decent camera, save a little bit and get a good camera. Otherwise, you’ll spend money now on a bad camera and just have to spend more money later to get a better camera. Don’t waste your money.
P.S. I disagree with the “Ace’s” price scale. You can get decent Canons, Nikons and Sony entry-level cameras starting at $90. A great point and shoot like the Canon A570 IS has a 4x zoom, 7mp and image stabilization for only $145. You don’t need to be in the $200 range to have a good camera.
