Canon versus Olympus point and shoot digital cameras: which is better?
I need to make a decision between a Canon SD1000 or an Olympus FE-340 digital cameras. Both seem to be perfect for my needs but I would like some user opinions. With Canon I can speak to customer service in America. How about for Olympus?

You can see that the Canon SD series cameras are in a different class of P&S camera’s than the Olympus FE series.

And even then the Olympus has a better optical zoom range (5x), slightly larger sensor size and pixel count, better flash, a panoramic setting (16:9 image ratio) and both use the state of the art Li-ion batteries.
At this point, you will have to go into a store that sells both and see for yourself with is the easiest for you to use.
