Is it illegal to repark in Sacramento, CA if the sign does not state that reparking is not allowed?
My situation involves a parking ticket while picking up some friends at William Land Park (in Sacramento, CA). I parked (let’s call it spot-A) for approx 10 minutes, picked up my friends, and left to go eat. I came back and parked (spot-B, a few spots away and across the street from spot-A) for approx 20 minutes to walk my friend to class and came out to find a ticket on my windshield. After spotting the metermaid, I argued for 30 minutes to no avail and gave up after he said “you can only park in here for 2 hours the whole day.” However, the sign did not state this, and I am not familiar with Sacramento’s parking laws. I petitioned the ticket and they said that my reasons were invalid and that I must pay the fine and/or attend a hearing. Meeting it is… I will fight it until the end!
**BTW, the new metermaids have upgraded golf-carts equipped with digital cameras. The camera took a pic of my car at spot-A, and matched it with a pic at spot-B even though I left the area. Beware!
Continue to fight the ticket. You have a valid argument for being ticketed.
