my iPod has water damage and won’t turn on… anyway I can fix it or get a new one?
I was in puerto rico right after a swell and I was standing at the entrance to the beach taking pictures and listening to my iPod when a random 5 foot wave crashed onto me… causing me my iPod and very nice digital camera. I tried letting then dry out for a couple of hours before turning them on but neither of them worked. Is there any way I can fix my iPod or get a new one? [knowing the apple company, probably not]

a lot of people have suggested not mentioning the fact that it’s water damaged and trying to get a new one, but I would feel terrible lying. Is it worth it?
Well, sure, you could send it back to Apple, but they’d charge lots of money to repair. If you feel brave, you could open the iPod and disassemble it and dry it out and hope it works then. But I’m guessing salt water can corrode the electronic innards pretty quickly. You might just be SOL. Sorry! Hope this helps!
