Why does some SLR cameras have lower mega pixels than digital cameras?
Ok so for instance a SLR camera (the big black ones) has 10megapixels and and a small digital camera has 12.1, which camera would take better quality photos? Like aren’t the big black cameras suppose to be more powerful?? But why is the megapixels so much lower! I’m so confused!
You know, years ago we all learned that the important part of any digital camera was the size if its sensor, NOT the number of pixels on it.
So you see a DSLR with a 6 mp sensor (1.6 MP/cm²) has much, much larger pixels (thus better light gathering characteristics) than a 12 mp (43 MP/cm²) sensor that is over 15 times smaller than the DSLR.
