Digital Cameras Panoramic
Which would be the best digital camera for me?
I am looking for a camera that is able to take clear close up shots and i need one that will allow me to enlarge the images to A1 size for printing sometimes. Also one with a panoramic feature would be a bonus. I am willing to spend around the £200 price mark. Thanks guys and girls – all advice appreciated
Going to be tricky. The price range you are talking about necessitates a compact, and although in theory many of the 12MP compacts should be able to fill a1 (when viewed from a moderate distance, now way up close) the lens quality is unlikely to be sufficient.
You really need to take stock and up the cash a bit.
My advise would be to either buy a 10MP digital body such an an EOS400d and get a used macro lens (sigmas 50 is a goodie for not an awful lot of money) or even better buy a used film SLR & macro lens get negs scanned, the film route may well be in budget for the initial outlay (you want a serious camera that has a mirror lock up facility, something like an EOS50, EOS30, EOS5 or EOS3) and the potential resolution of film far far exceeds digital.
If you are going to stick to the digital route then you whould think about using the fractals plug in for photoshop to up the resolution. Even an EOS 1Ds mk3 would struggle to fill A1.
So in short:
Used film with macro lens.
Lower end 10MP digital SLR with macro lens plus a bit of work in photoshop.
