digital cameras northern ireland
Can the meteor shower on April 21st/22nd be seen in Northern Ireland?

If so, can they be photographed by a normal digital camera?

The Lyrid meteor shower is just as visible in Ireland as anywhere else in the Northern Hemisphere. However this is a very minor shower and doesn’t produce many meteors. You can attempt to photograph meteors with any camera which allows time exposures. The longer the exposure, the more likely you are to catch something. However, Lyrids are few and far between, so be prepared to get a lot of images without meteors. Also it may be advisable to have external power for your camera, as time exposures eat up battery life enormously.
