i’m looking for a digital camera not SLR or dslr, a compact one with relatively good zoom anything recommended?
i’m looking for a digital camera not SLR or dslr, a compact one with relatively good zoom above 10x. i’ve looked closely at the SAMSUNG WB600 and the Panasonic lumix dmc-tz8 both look quite good which would you recommend for taking pictures of wildlife and suchlike as i live in Kenya i quite like the 15x zoom on the samsung but the lumix looks like a better program but will 12x zoom be adequate

You need to carefully work out your priorities. You can have either small size (few features, VERY tiny sensor which means so-so quality, limited zoom, etc) or a decent camera (yes, you need to carry around big gear but you get what you pay for).
P&Ss certainly have their place, but NOT in wildlife photography if you want something better than a so-so distant snap shot.
