Hitachi Digital camera switches off immediatly after being turned on!?

My hitachi digital camera has broken, when switched on the lens comes out then immediately turns off and the lens goes back in, (the battery is fully charged) any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

Low batteries can cause this problem.

Rechargeable batteries have a life span.

There comes a time where they simply don’t recharge anymore.

I’ll cross fingers for you that all your camera needs is some brand new batteries.
