Digital Cameras Glass Lenses
DSLR – Please help with a few things!?
Hi! I’m trying to explore my options…
First:
I am the owner of a Canon Digital Rebel XT. Thus far I have just been using standard lenses with it to capture a variety of shots. However, I’d like to get some trinkets to have “some fun” with the camera.
Black and white, color filters, star filters, different types of lenses.. anything could interest me.
Second:
Is there some sort of simple protection filter I can get for my lenses so the glass isn’t exposed. I do some shots in the wind that blow around a lot of debris.
Third:
Where do I go to have my lens cleaned? 
I’m just out of college and not in a situation where I can drop tons of dollars, so cost-awareness is a plus!

Skylight 1A or 1B filters are found on the front of many pro lenses. They’re relatively cheap, protect the front element, and take away a little of the bluish haze in daylight.
The rest of your question is too vague for this section. I’d suggest “The Photographer’s Handbook” by John Hedgecoe as a good place to start regarding effects filters.
